Five things to do before you sell a property

Many people dive into selling their properties, speaking with agents or even ‘pre-marketing’ , before taking these five simple steps.

  1. Check with your accountant about any Capital Gains Tax and Land Tax you may be liable for.

  2. Check with your bank about any fees associated with paying out the loan, especially if you have a fixed rate.

  3. If you have a pool or spa, make sure it is registered and you have a certificate of compliance. Go to https://www.swimmingpoolregister.nsw.gov.au/ for more information on how to register the pool and to make sure it is compliant.

  4. Provide your conveyancer with copies of any plans and approvals you may have, especially for any renovations or extensions.

  5. Call Novus Law Group to have your contract prepared before the agent lists the property for sale. The agent must have a contract to legal sell a property.

If you call Teresa at Novus Law Group she can help you with the other steps anyway. You can click on the button below to arrange free 15 minute phone call with her today.
